The Church of the Nazarene is truly a remarkable denomination. It has centered its theological focus on the critical issues relative to holy living, engaging mission, and growing local congregations.
And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us, And establish the work of our hands for us - Yes, establish the work of our hands. (Psalm 90:17, NKJV)
The mission of the people called Nazarenes is "to make Christlike disciples in the nations." In Matthew 28:18-20 Jesus said:
Most of us have honed the ordinary into a finely tuned expression of daily life. With few exceptions, we arrive into this world with the ordinary accompanying us.
Big tents are often symbolic. As a child, I remember seeing a huge tent with throngs of people milling around it.
As a writer, I am keenly interested in the words other writers use as they approach the task of communicating their message to readers.
We will not easily forget seeing a wall of water overwhelming shorelines and destroying lives in southern Asia on December 26, 2004. News broadcasts relayed devastating accounts of the tragedy.
